Team Freedom had just beaten out Team Octalysis for the 3rd seed spot and giving themselves a slight advantage; by that, I mean they won’t have to go against Team Dignitas in the first round. They have had an okay season thus far with a 5-2 record and qualifying for the Western Clash – Phase 1 earlier this year. Team Freedom will be facing the EU 2nd seed, Team Liquid. Although they’ve done well throughout the season with a 6-1 record, they have yet to really make any significant moves so
Everyone here at Game Rant would like to wish the inanimate, mass-produced, nostalgia-inducing Game Boy a very Happy North American Birthday. While it can’t reciprocate the love many gamers still have for it, it revolutionized an industry that we still care about all these years la
Coming up on its third year since launch, Blizzard’s take on the MOBA genre, Heroes of the Storm , has seen success due to how approachable the game is, as well as the developers’ continued support with new content and heroes. In fact, I had the chance to play the latest addition to the hero pool, Diablo ‘s Deckard Cain, which I thoroughly enjoyed thanks to the clever uses of his abilit
I know I kinda go back to this a lot, but with 134 champions it can not only be hard to balance them all, but it can also be hard to make them unique. A lot of _ League _ heroes tend to blend together, with only a slight variations to give them some original
Tempo Storm has proven that they are one of the top teams by getting 1st during Phase 1 of the NA Pro League. However, they fell short during the Western Clash – Phase 1 and HGC Mid-Season Brawl by placing in 3rd and 4th, respectively. They definitely have the potential to win: with the addition of ViN in the lineup, maybe they can turn that aro
“I think it’s something that I’ve always been interested in, but it wasn’t until I got into college and met some people doing it that I actually took the plunge. I’m not even sure if I can classify my first “outing” as a cosplay, I threw some stuff together and did a Lady Vader back in 2012. I had fun though, and got a good look at what other people were producing, asked a lot of questions, and thought ‘yeah, I really need to do this right
Oddly enough, it’s said that Nintendo actually got their name for the protagonist from a lawyer that successfully defended them in a case against Universal Studios over a dispute regarding the name ‘Donkey Kong’ back in 1984. The lawyer’s name? John Ki
This is where the game’s RPG elements come in handy–throughout gameplay players will level-up Embla, making her more powerful. Leveling up Embla will increase her hit points, the strength of her spells, the amount of mana (used to cast spells) she earns, as well as her energy (more on this later). Additionally, leveling up Embla also unlocks new abilities, such as the ability to create a protective fence by lining up three creatures horizontally and the ability to withdraw a creature, allowing the creatures behind them to move
One game has way more team fights than the other, and that’s _ Heroes of the Storm _ . In _ HotS _ maps usually, have objectives that will bring teams into conflict within the first 5 minutes. _ League _ doesn’t have that, and it’s even possible to have entire games where the only kills are solo-lane ganks that eventually result in death timers so long there isn’t even a climactic final battle at the enemy’s c
It’s hard to forget the first time the world familiarized itself with the now iconic pink puffball known as Kirby. Yes, Kirby’s Dream Land marked the debut of Nintendo’s lovable glutton and his popularity has kept the franchise trekking ever since. Immediately appealing to children the world over thanks to his smile-inducing demeanor, the first iteration of Kirby was a smashing success for Ninte
While it appears that no one is quite certain exactly when The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening first arrived for the Game Boy in North America, that didn’t stop Nintendo from remastering and eventually releasing the title for the Game Boy Color on December 15, 1
“The demon hunter was the project that I decided to do after I went to my first major convention and got a good look at what other people were producing. I mained a demon hunter all the way through Diablo 3 , had loved the character and the artwork associated with it. It seemed a natural choice for me at the time. I just kind of sat down one day, looked at my boyfriend, and said “This. This is what I want to do next.” So I did it. Rather poorly. It was pretty much glued together and the first time I wore it to Megacon, it hadn’t even been sealed, I just slapped paint on it. It evolved quite a bit between Megacon and Supercon. It now just sits on a mannequin in my room, it’s almost too fragile to wear out anymore. There’s a nostalgic part of me that wants to remake it knowing everything I know now
When _ Defense of the Ancients _ was first inventing the MOBA Game Strategy genre, the only way to get experience or gold was to be the last guy putting damage on something to secure the kill. If you missed your attack and some minion stole your kill, you get nothing even if you did 99% of the damage. Thus the concept of “last hit” was born, and remained a staple of the genre for a long t
